Elderly exercise day two
Exercises to rejuvenate organs
Yoga is an ancient science developed for the well being of the body. As you grow older, your body undergoes a natural process of deterioration which results not only in ill-health but also has many side effects like low energy, depression and lethargy. These simple postures or movements will change the environment of your body by affecting your hormonal levels, rejuvenating your various glands and organs and bringing you into a happier state where your body can fight off diseases.

Exercise 1
• Bend one leg and place it so that the heel touches the groin area
• Inhale and raise the arms up straight
• Exhale, bend forward to grasp the ankle or foot and bring the forehead down to touch the knee
• Hold for 10-30 seconds
• Repeat with the other leg.

Exercise 2
• Exercise 2
• Lie on your stomach, your legs straight, your feet together and your arms by your side
• Place your palms by your chest, the elbows tucked in
• Inhale and raise your upper body till your navel
• Then straighten your arms, raise your torso as shown, tuck your toes in and look up
• Hold for 10-30 seconds
• Slowly and gently come back to the starting position and relax.

Exercise 3
• Exercise 3
• Sit back on your heels, the knees together, the toes overlapping, the back straight and your palms on your knees
• Inhale; slowly raise both your arms straight above your head
• Exhale and slowly bend forward, the arms straight and in line with the ears. Rest the forehead on the floor and bring the palms together
• Inhale; slowly raise the upper body and both arms straight above your head
• Repeat steps three and four, five times, paying attention to your breathing
• Inhale, slowly raise the arms and the upper body, exhale and lower the arms to the start position.
